These terms govern your use of CodeMate on Apple devices. Read them together with the Privacy Policy, which describes where your data goes and what stays on your device. By using the app you accept both.
CodeMate is an offline reference tool for US medical coding. It helps you look up ICD-10-CM and HCPCS Level II descriptors, notes and conventions, and it can draft candidate codes from a chart sentence. Optional reference packs — ICD-10-PCS, the ICD-10-CM-to-PCS GEM crosswalk, and the NDC drug directory — download separately and stay on your device. Every AI output in this app is a draft suggestion, not a coding decision, and not a billing instruction.
CodeMate is not medical advice, not legal advice, and not a compliance opinion. It does not verify your documentation, it does not adjudicate reimbursement, and it does not replace the official codebooks, the ICD-10-CM Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting, or your organization's coding policies. You remain responsible for the codes you submit.
Ask takes one chart sentence you type, and returns up to four candidate codes with a confidence number and a one-line rationale. It is a convenience shortcut for a lookup you would otherwise do by keyword search.
Candidates are a draft suggestion. They are not a coding decision, not a validated claim, and not a substitute for reading the tabular entry, the inclusion terms, and the notes. Always verify against the codebook before you submit anything.
Confidence numbers are the model's own self-assessment, not a probability of correctness. A high number does not make a code right. Where the sentence goes — on-device or through the developer's relay — and what is stripped before it travels is described in the Privacy Policy.
The model was not trained on your payer's policies, your organization's conventions, or this fiscal year's edits. It can be confidently wrong. It cannot see the full chart. Use it to find a starting point, then verify.
Ask returns at most four candidates per sentence, and only codes that exist in the code pack installed on your device. On Mac, Ask is not available at all: the cloud path requires a device verification step that Mac Catalyst does not support, and on-device reasoning needs Apple Intelligence on iPhone or iPad. Everything else in CodeMate, including search, saved codes, pins, notes and iCloud sync, works normally on Mac.
Personal notes you attach to a code, together with your saved codes and pinned shortcuts, are stored on your device. Notes are private to your device by default, and iCloud sync stays off until you turn it on in Me → iCloud sync — subscribing to Pro does not enable it. If you are a Pro subscriber and turn on iCloud sync, your notes, saved codes and pins move through your own iCloud private database — they never pass through a server we operate, and we have no way to read them. Your keyword searches are never uploaded. If you use notes to record information derived from a patient chart, that content may be protected health information; you are responsible for handling it in line with your own obligations, and we recommend keeping such detail out of the app.
This section mirrors the standard Apple Licensed Applications terms that apply to this app. The authoritative text is the one shown by the App Store at the time of download; what follows is a convenience summary and is not a modification of those terms.
The content is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Code sets are revised every fiscal year; a code that is accurate today may be deleted, renamed, or re-defined in a later release. We do not warrant that the app is error-free, that any code pack is the newest available, or that AI candidates are correct. To the maximum permitted by law, neither the developer nor Apple accepts liability for third-party claims, product returns, or claims arising from use of the app. Some jurisdictions do not allow disclaimers, so parts of this may not apply to you.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer and its suppliers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including denied claims, audit findings, fines, or lost revenue — arising out of your use of, or inability to use, this app, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. The total liability of the developer is limited to the amount you paid for the app, if any.
CodeMate Pro is billed through your Apple Account. Free trials convert to a paid subscription unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the trial. Manage or cancel subscriptions in iPhone Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions. Prices are set by Apple in your local currency and tax.
ICD-10-CM. The International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision, Clinical Modification (ICD-10-CM) is a collaborative product of the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), and the World Health Organization, which owns the underlying copyright. ICD-10-CM codes and descriptors displayed in CodeMate are derived from these public health sources. WHO is not responsible for the accuracy of any modifications reflected here.
HCPCS Level II. HCPCS Level II codes and descriptors are produced and maintained by CMS under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). The HCPCS data in this app is derived from public CMS releases.
CPT®. CPT® is a registered trademark of the American Medical Association. CPT® codes and related data are the property of the AMA, and permission to use CPT® must be obtained from the AMA Permission Committee (permissions@ama-assn.org). CodeMate displays HCPCS Level II codes only; references to CPT® in this app are nominative and do not imply any license, sponsorship, or endorsement.
No endorsement. Neither the American Medical Association, nor CMS, nor NCHS/CDC, nor the World Health Organization endorses, sponsors, or reviews CodeMate. Trade names, official titles and agency identifiers appear for the sole purpose of identifying the source of the reference data.
Official source prevails. All content in CodeMate is provided for educational reference. The official releases — the CDC/NCHS and CMS files, the ICD-10-CM Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting, the current annual HCPCS Level II update, and the AMA's CPT® publication — are the authoritative sources. Where this app differs from an official publication, the official publication prevails and this app is simply out of date.
Open source notices. CodeMate is built only with Apple's operating-system and first-party frameworks (SwiftUI, SwiftData, SQLite, StoreKit, Foundation Models). It bundles no third-party SDK and no code subject to copyleft licences, so there is no additional open-source notice set to display in this release. "No third-party SDK" is a statement about what ships inside the app bundle: the services the app talks to — hosting, the AI relay and its model provider, the feedback relay's email delivery service, and Apple's own iCloud and StoreKit — are described in the Privacy Policy, and none of them is linked into the binary.
Questions, bug reports, and feature requests: feedback@17healthy.cn — or use Me → Feedback & Suggestions inside the app.
The in-app form sends what you type, the category you picked, and any screenshot you chose to attach. It travels over HTTPS to a relay operated by the developer, which hands the message to an email delivery service for the support mailbox; the relay itself keeps no copy. Section 5 of the Privacy Policy describes exactly what leaves the device. Please include the app version (Me → About), your iOS version, and the code pack version shown on the Home banner. Do not send patient records, payer account numbers, or any protected health information — the support mailbox is not configured for PHI. Access, correction and deletion requests are handled under the Privacy Policy.
Data source corrections. If you spot a mismatch between CodeMate and an official release, tell us the code, the field, and the official document you compared against (for example the ICD-10-CM tabular list for the fiscal year now in effect, or the current HCPCS Level II addendum). Corrections ship with the next code pack, on the annual fiscal-cycle cadence described in What's new.
Business & licensing. For AMA CPT® permission requests, go to the American Medical Association Permission Committee. For CMS or CDC/NCHS data questions, contact the relevant agency directly — CodeMate is an independent reader application and cannot grant or extend licences to source content.
We may change these terms in a future app release. Continued use after an update means the updated terms apply to you.
